The Field Application Scientist (FAS) role at Aiforia is an exciting one, bringing together the responsibilities of commercial and scientific activities through the successful candidate’s use of their scientific knowledge, problem solving, and communications skills. The role of the FAS is to demonstrate Aiforia’s products to potential customers as well as assisting current ones with their projects across research and clinical practice. They will support the successful completion of projects with Aiforia’s artificial intelligence solutions; working closely with customers as well as with Aiforia’s science and sales teams to ensure strong AI product demonstration and customer service.
General responsibilities include showcasing Aiforia’s software and services to prospects via video calls or at conferences, supporting customers' use of Aiforia’s products and troubleshooting when needed.
To succeed in this role it is essential that the candidate is exceptional at prioritizing work; meaning that they can manage many tasks and projects at once. The FAS should also embody excellent communication skills, have and maintain in-depth scientific knowledge to support customer projects across a wide variety of scientific fields for AI-assisted image analysis.
The role will be based primarily in Europe; either in: the UK, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, Hungary, Norway or Finland.
Maintain current and deep understanding of Aiforia’s products including how to annotate, train and validate new AI models using Aiforia’s technologies (no coding skills are needed)
Identify customer image analysis needs, design an AI solution with the rest of the Aiforia team and communicate the proposed solution to the customer
Manage and coordinate all technical aspects of customer projects i.e. documentation
Onboard new customers through remote calls, emails and other communications methods, to enable them to successfully use Aiforia’s image analysis software, and the data generated therein
Monitor customer progress and render assistance when needed along with continuous proactive customer engagement
Identify and communicate potential problems to the Aiforia team and work to implement fixes
Demonstrate and present Aiforia’s solutions and services to prospective customers
Willingness to travel on occasion to attend regional and national trade shows, conferences as well as to meet with clients to demonstrate Aiforia’s products and services
Support the sales team to prepare quotes
Experience & Skill Requirements
Minimum 3-4 years work experience in industry or 3+ years of research experience using pathology, microscopy, immunology, molecular biology, or related methods to answer research questions
Strong proficiency with microscopy images (e.g., histopathology, immunohistochemistry, cytology) and common image analysis tools
Experience with pathological image analysis using deep learning
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational, project management, and prioritization skills
Ability balance working within a team environment while also being self motivated
Fluent English, other languages are a plus
