Role

The Field Application Scientist (FAS) is a key role in Aiforia’ presales and post sales process. As a business oriented scientist you are responsible for engaging clients proactively, consulting about business opportunities on scientific terms, bridging the customers expectations with Aiforia artificial intelligence services and solutions. The role is full time, requires great flexibility and working from home including on-premise customer visits in Europe. The role of the FAS is to demonstrate Aiforia’s products to potential customers as well as assisting current ones with their projects across research and clinical practice. They will support the successful completion of projects with Aiforia’s artificial intelligence solutions; working closely with customers as well as with Aiforia’s science and sales teams to ensure strong AI product demonstration and customer service.

General responsibilities include showcasing Aiforia’s software and services to prospects via video calls or at conferences, supporting customers' use of Aiforia’s products and troubleshooting when needed.

To succeed in this role it is essential that the candidate is exceptional at prioritizing work; meaning that they can manage many tasks and projects at once. The FAS should also embody excellent communication skills, have and maintain in-depth scientific knowledge to support customer projects across a wide variety of scientific fields for AI-assisted image analysis.

Responsibilities

• Scientific and commercial activities; presentation, demonstration, consultation as part of the presales process

• Maintain current and deep understanding of Aiforia’s solutions including how to annotate, train and validate new AI models using (no coding skills are needed)

• Identify customer image analysis needs, design an AI solution with the rest of the Aiforia team and communicate the proposed solution to the customer

• Manage and coordinate all technical aspects of customer projects i.e. documentation

• Onboard new customers through remote calls, emails and other communications methods, to enable them to successfully use Aiforia’s image analysis software, and the data generated therein

• Monitor customer progress and render assistance when needed along with continuous proactive customer engagement

• Identify and communicate potential problems to the Aiforia team and work to implement fixes

• Demonstrate and present Aiforia’s solutions and services to prospective customers

• Travel on a monthly base to attend regional and national trade shows, conferences as well as to meet with clients to demonstrate Aiforia’s products and services

• Support the sales team to prepare quotes

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a biological/biomedical science discipline

• Scientific knowledge, problem solving, and communications skills.

• Minimum 3-4 years work experience in industry or 3+ years of research experience using pathology, microscopy, immunology, molecular biology, or related methods to answer research questions

• Strong proficiency with microscopy images (e.g., histopathology, immunohistochemistry, cytology) and common image analysis tools

• Experience with pathological or radiological image analysis using deep learning

• Effective verbal and written communication skills

• Strong organizational, project management, and prioritization skills

• Ability balance working within a team environment while also being self motivated

• Mother language in English, German, Dutch, Spanish or Italian

• Fluent English, other languages are a plus

What is seen as an advantage

• A PhD in a biological/biomedical science discipline

• A theoretical or practical understanding of AI and deep neural networks

• Experience in artificial intelligence model development in image analysis

• Competence and proven ability in a work environment to anticipate customer needs and actively investigate to propose solutions
