Our mission is to provide high-quality, AI-assisted solutions that enable personalized and democratized care for patients. To help us achieve this, we are looking for an experienced and driven AI Software Engineer to design and implement the next generation of AI features for our products.

Role and responsibilities

As a core member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of machine learning and image analysis components—from architectural design to production deployment. You will play a crucial role in expanding Aiforia's capabilities and ensuring our existing solutions remain robust and reliable.

Your key tasks will include:

• Architecture & Design: Design scalable and robust software architectures to develop and enhance the core AI engines that power Aiforia's AI model development.

• Software Implementation: Develop, write, and optimize production-level code to bring innovative image analysis features to life.

• Quality Assurance: Ensure the highest standards of code quality and model reliability by creating comprehensive software test instructions, unit tests, and validation protocols.

• Technical Documentation: Write and maintain clear, accurate technical documentation to support development, regulatory compliance, and cross-team collaboration.

• Product Maintenance: Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain existing machine learning and image analysis products to ensure seamless performance for our end-users in clinical and research settings.

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate is an experienced technical problem-solver who bridges the gap between complex machine learning theory and practical, scalable software engineering. You write clean code, understand the intricacies of deploying AI models in production, and thrive in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Requirements:

• Educational Background: MSc or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a closely related highly quantitative field.

• Experience: 3+ years of relevant industry experience in software engineering and machine learning development.

• Technical Skills: Strong programming skills and hands-on experience developing and deploying machine learning models in production environments.

• Communication: Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Fluency in written and spoken English is a must.

• In-depth knowledge of the latest advancements in image analysis methodology, along with the ability to continuously stay up to date, identify relevant research, and adapt it for integration into Aiforia’s AI engines.

• Familiarity with deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and computer vision.

• Previous experience working with medical devices, healthcare data, or within regulated environments (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA).

• Experience with cloud computing platforms and MLOps practices.

• Proficiency in Finnish is considered an advantage.

Helsinki. Hybrid. We offer a hybrid work model that provides flexibility for your daily life.
